Timothy received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Brigham Young University where he graduated with honors from the department of Mechanical Engineering. At BYU he was involved in the Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Geometric Design (CADG) labs. His Masters thesis presented a new method for topologically mapping arbitrary N-Genus surfaces to single planar domains.
