Alan Thorne is Program Manager for the Auto-ID Centre's Cambridge Lab. Thorne graduated from Anglia Polytechnic University in Electronics and Control Systems and has a varied background in the field of Automation and Control. He has been involved in British Aerospace/IBM research projects as a systems engineer investigating flexible manufacturing systems on civil and military aircraft production. More recently, he has been involved in projects relating to the development of novel AI based machine control strategies.
